Unknown island: incentive tour to Malta

Malta is one of those wow-places that are often underestimated. In fact, this tiny state, called Hollywood of the Mediterranean (many movies and TV shows were filmed here – Gladiator, The Da Vinci Code, Game of Thrones, War of Worlds Z), contains numerous amazing places that everyone should see. And, on top of everything else, the Mediterranean Sea here is pure, alluring and delightful – isn’t it an ideal place for the rest?

As part of the incentive-trip, we visited four amazing islands – Gozo, Valletta, Mdina and Comino. Well-organized transport system allows to easily move between them. Keep reading to how it was!

1) Gozo

Gozo offers great opportunities for hiking, rest on the beach, sightseeing and gastronomic marathon. For lunch, we recommend you to go to Il-Kartell restaurant to try local specialties and admire Marsalforn bay.

By the way, want to know a few constants of the Maltese menu? The regional cuisine was formed under the influence of English, Italian and Arabic cultures, so, in the local restaurants, you can always taste meat dishes (especially from rabbit and pork), seafood or try delicious cheeses.

The Mediterranean Sea here is transparent and delightful, and having visited the beach Ramla Bay, you will definitely fall in love with the boundless waters and would like to come back here again.

2)  Valletta

Then the group headed to Valletta – a city with beautiful historical streets. The St John’s Co-Cathedral, Basilica of Our Lady of Fair Havens & St. Dominic and the cruise port are must-visit places here. To admire the beautiful view, it is worth to visit the latter in the evening at sunset.

During a gastronomic marathon, we recommend visiting Peppino’s – here is where you can taste the most delicious lamb dishes, and The Harbour Club – a romantic place with amazing cuisine and classic cocktails.

3) Mdina

Mdina is the historical capital of Malta and a place that has existed for more than four thousand years. It is not surprising that the city has become place of filming almost the entire first season of the Game of Thrones: once you are here, you find yourself in an open-air museum with exhibits of medieval and baroque culture.

If you, like us, will walk in the hot time of the day, drop into Fior Di Latte for the tastiest gelatto in the city 😉

4) Comino

Indented coastline is the highlight of Malta.

Bays, framed by the walls of the forts, cliffs, sea arches in combination with the gorgeous beaches and the sea with rich underwater world of the Comino island did not leave us emotionless!

Comino was the last stop in our intensive 7-day trip, which we ended up with a walk along the shore of the Blue Lagoon. And you know, this was definitely the best solution!
